Goats are extremely prone to many metabolic diseases including Postparturient Hemoglobinuria (PPH) and due to this disorder milk production and general health of goats get affected. Exact pathogenesis of this condition is yet not known but many risk factors are considered to be involved in hemoglobinuria and dropped serum phosphorus level followed by parturition is considered to be the most important one. In this paper, economic significance of goat, a case report and diagnosis based on hemogram and serum biochemistry report and the best available treatment protocols are discussed.

Plants and herbs are the mainstream of diverse traditional medicine system practiced throughout the whole population. Today, there is increasingly trend set the uses of natural plants for the various human ailments and wound healing as natural remedy. The crude drugs are derived from the whole plant or parts of the plants that are being used for tremendous diseases through the world without chances of serious adverse reaction as well as more efficacy and safety. The ethnomedicines are being indicated worldwide that consists of different phytochemical constitutes like as alkaloids, saponin, phenols, tannins, flavonoids and carbohydrates so as to not only have biological, physiological and pharmacological activity but also have antioxidant activity for the treatment of stomach, cardiovascular and liver alilments.

Herbal medicinal natural plants and species are mostly used for wide purposes in Pakistan in current situation. There are diverse variety of phytochemical constituents which are present in plants and act as secondary metabolites that are formed from the normal metabolism likewise alkaloids, flavonoids, glycoside, phenols, steroids and other specific pigments. Therefore, the botanist concentrations are increasingly changing to ethnobotanical practices due to availability at lower price, wide safety and efficacy margin and less side effects of plants. The medicinal benefits of the special phytochemical of the plants cannot be ignored. Some of the herbal plants have been expressed for their significance to take care of the different ailments of mankind particularly correlated to liver, GIT, stomach and colon.

A COMPARISON OF NALBUPHINE AND PENTAZOCINE IN CONTROLLING POSTOPERATIVE PAIN IN DOGS

Surgical success in most cases is governed by the quality of post-operative pain management. In Pakistan, most veterinary surgeons face a dire predicament as they fail astutely in this regard. Owing to the controlled dispensing of potent narcotics and their potential misuse, an imperative need for effective post-operative analgesic management of pain exists in dogs. 32 dogs were randomly divided into two groups. Group A was injected Nalbuphine @ 0.5 mg/kg post-operatively while Group B was injected Pentazocine @ 3mg/kg. Subjective and objective analysis of pain was conducted by unbiased observers. Vital signs (Temperature, pulse, respiration) were analyzed along with supplementation of hepatic and renal function tests. Objective and subjective analysis of both groups yielded results in the favor of pentazocine. In group A, temperature, pulse and respiration averaged 101.86±0.58oF, 83.46±2.75 per minute and 19.26±2.14 per minute respectively. Group 2 demonstrated temperature, pulse and respiration averages of 102.31±0.40oF, 83.41±2.74 per minute and 19.54±2.14 per minute respectively. Values of hepatic and renal function were also observed to be significantly higher in Nalbuphine treated group. All the results indicate that pentazocine is not only a significantly better analgesic but also has lower hepatotoxic and renal toxic effects.

Objective To investigate the effect of traditional paper operation methods and digital information systems on improving clinical work efficiency. Methodology A number of clinical controlled studies and questionnaire surveys were conducted to evaluate the operation of the hemodialysis information electronic management system, its impact on dialysis work efficiency and dialysis quality, and the satisfaction of doctors and patients, and achieved hemodialysis centers. Electronic information management can save costs and control operating expenses while liberating people and improving work efficiency. Results The information electronic management system helps improve the safety of hemodialysis treatment. With the use of electronic information management, the integrity of the records of hemodialysis medical records has been significantly improved, and the authenticity has been better guaranteed. The implementation rate of doctor’s orders reaches 100%, and medical errors are reduced, making it easier for traceability and quality control. Conclusion The use of digital information system in hemodialysis can improve the work quality and work efficiency of the hemodialysis room and improve the satisfaction of doctors and patients as a whole. Therefore, digital information systems have positive application value in hemodialysis.

COPPER DEFICIENCY IN RUMINANTS IN PAKISTAN

Copper (Cu) is a vital micronutrient in all living organisms. It is essential for the proper functioning of the different enzymes like ceruloplasmin, dopamine β, superoxide dismutase, cytochrome c oxidase, lysyl oxidase, monoamine oxidase, tyrosinase, peptidylglycine α, glactose oxidate, ascorbate oxidase and monooxigenase. These enzymes play a vital role in a variety of physiological functions of hematological, nervous, cardiovascular, reproductive, antioxident and immune systems. Hypocuprosis may be due to primary or secondary copper deficiency. The main reason of copper deficiency in Pakistani livestock is most probably due to the presence of dietary Cu antagonist, e.g sulphur and in particular molybdenum. Clinical symptoms of copper deficiency include ataxia, paralysis, paresis, incoordination, head tremors, edema, twisted joints, weakness of limbs, poor quality fleece, bespectacled eyes, fractures, anemia, depigmentation of hair and skin, rough body coats, thin bellies, degeneration of myocardial muscles, ataxia, head tremors and falling disease. In Pakistan copper has been used for the treatment of different health disorders of livestock e.g nutritional hemoglobinuria, parturient hemoglobinuria, mastitis, anestus, leukoderma, chronic diarrhea.

Meat is the rich source of many essential amino acids (valine, lysine, methionine, leucine, tryptophan, isoleucine, phenylalanine and threonine), vitamins (Vitamin D, B6 and B12) and a very good source of nutrients. Meat is also a good source of iron that is very necessary for human body and helps in maintenance of health. The major issue in meat market now a days is the adulteration of meat with other cheap meat and unhealthy items. To avoid this adulteration in meat, authenticity has become necessary. There are many techniques for the detection of adulteration in meat but, the best techniques to detect meat protein in raw as well as in cooked meat are Agarose Gel Immunodiffusion (AGID) and Countercurrent Immunoelectrophoresis (CCIE). Meat extracts (antigens) are prepared from horse and donkey meat samples and rising of hyper immune sera is done against these antigens in rabbits. 0ut of 20 samples, 18 samples are positive that indicate equine species have similar meat proteins. For cross reactivity, both antisera show small precipitation line with antigens (horse meat extract and donkey meat extract) and antiserum against donkey meat protein give clear results. CCIE is faster, cheaper, and sensitive technique than AGID.

Herbal plants are used widely for the treatment of stomach disorders as peptic and duodenal ulcer, dyspepsia, gastritis and other ailments. There are many causes of ulcer but 80% of the ulcer caused by H-Pylori in the GIT problems. Uses of NSAID are the main cause of GIT problems in human health. In the developed countries, mostly peoples used herbal plants regularly for the stomach problems. These herbal plants contain different photochemical constituents as alkaloids, flavonoids, phenols, tannins and saponins. They not only have bioactive compounds but also have antioxidants properties that strengthen the stomach health and prevent from oxidative stress and other scavenging properties. The use of herbal plants is economical and safe for these types of diseases. The herbal plants treatment has been used for stomach disorders without chances of reoccurrence.

Neem (Azadirachtaindica) is belong to family Meliaceae and it is it is rich source of antioxidant. It has been widely used in medicines of Chinese, Ayurvedic, and Unani prescriptions overall particularly in Indian Subcontinent in the treatment and counteractive action of different maladies. From various parts of neem, 140 different mixtures can be made. All parts of the neem tree-leaves, blossoms, seeds, organic products, roots and bark have been utilized customarily for the treatment of aggravation, contaminations, fever, skin ailments and dental issue. The therapeutic utilities have been portrayed particularly for neem leaf. Neem leaf and its constituents have been shown to display immunomodulatory, calming, antihyperglycaemic, antiulcer, antimalarial, antifungal, antibacterial, antiviral, cell reinforcement, antimutagenic and anticarcinogenic properties. This survey abridges the extensive variety of pharmacological uses of neem leaf.
